Invisible Injuries PTSD and the Invictus Games
At the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, wounded soldiers compete against each other in sporting events. But more than half of the competitors have no visible wounds! How is it that physically injured people compete against apparently uninjured people?
At the Invictus Games, people compete who have been wounded in body and soul. For all of them, sport is the means of rehabilitation. One of the mental wounds of our competitors can be PTSD – post-traumatic stress disorder.
Here our competitors share their stories with PTSD.
