Federal Minister of Defence Pistorius in the Invictus Village
Invictus Village
has opened

Games, information, sports and music are changing every day.

The Invictus Village is a place to stay for everyone who wants to get information about the INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023 presented by Boeing. However, it also offers various opportunities, such as different offline games, or just a cosy sofa corner with tables and relaxing chairs for a break.

The Invictus Village opened with a brilliant performance of the dance group “Hoppedötze”, supported by hot Rhenish carnival music and cheered by an enthusiastic international audience. The performance of the association called “Tanzen Inklusiv NRW” (translation Inclusive Dancing in North Rhine-Westphalia) also captured the spirit of the spectators. Dancers in wheelchairs showed the Rhenish joie de vivre brings strength and fun even with limitations. It is already evident that the spirit of the Invictus Games is in good hands in the state capital of Düsseldorf with its Rhenish openness.

First and foremost, the Invictus Village is intended as a meeting place for competitors and all visitors. A variety of topics will be addressed in the area. The booth of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 with information of the upcoming sports festival is located not far from the main entrance. At the special field post office opposite the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA, each and every visitor can have a card stamped as a memento.

The central place in the Invictus Village is the stage. Various events will take place there from 9am until around 6pm. in the evening. Discussion forums with officials and sponsors will be held, as well as talks with participants. The music programme will bring school classes from Düsseldorf on stage as a choir or, with the rapper Matzibora, an Afghanistan veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who uses music and the brand “War in the Mind” to draw attention to soldiers wounded in action.

But bagpipes, saxophones and carnival music will also be heard. With “The Sons of Scotland”, the oldest Canadian bagpipe formation arriving from Ottawa. Be it march music from the Netherlands, two opera singers who fled from Ukraine or dance performances: there is no room for boredom here. There is something for almost everyone’s taste. For the children, there is a separate kids zone with a colourful supporting programme.
