More than 92 kilometres of power cable!

What remains are colourful images full of action and emotions. The INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023 presented by Boeing left a lasting impression and burned into the memories of many. But it’s also worth looking back at the facts.

The INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023 presented by Boeing from September 9th to 16th, 2023, was the sixth edition of the Games following London 2014, Orlando 2016, Toronto 2017, Sydney 2018 and The Hague 2022.

513 competitors from 21 countries competed in 10 different sports across six days of competition.

A total of 666 medals in 229 competitions were handed out.

The relatives of the participants – “Family & Friends” – totalled well over 1,000.

More 1,200 volunteers made the major event possible. They came from 30 countries.

Over 800 journalists were accredited.

21,800 soldiers from all participating countries attended the event.

Around 14,000 school children from all over Europe were among the guests.

With around 140,000 spectators, the goal of 100,000 was far exceeded.

The next Invictus Games will take place from February 6th to 17th, 2025, in Vancouver and Whistler in Canada. It will be the first time the Games also feature winter sports.

The MERKURSPIEL ARENA was converted into a multi-functional facility in a record eight days. 950 people worked 15,000 hours.

A 58 metre-wide stage and a 532 square metre LED wall were created.
