The Official Trailer for the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023

You can’t play table tennis alone. If there is nobody to return the ball, it would just fall off the table on the other end. In many ways, this year’s newest sport is a metaphor for the importance of the Invictus Games community – nothing is possible without each other.

The Invictus Games were founded in 2014 by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, in order to harness the power of sport in recovery for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans. But the Games have never been only about the competitors – they have always celebrated the community that surrounds and uplifts them.

The Games are about the comradery between teams, supporting each other while understanding each other’s struggles. About the families and friends who hold their hands and cheer for them. The volunteers who put their all into the event.
It takes all of us, and all of you to guide their path.

We would like to thank the cast of this film: Steffi, Andre, Carsten and Armin, who were injured during their service. Alex, who is still actively serving and supporting our veterans and volunteers. Hannie, who has become a stalwart of the Invictus Games volunteer community and has volunteered at every Games since 2017. Valentin Baus and Felix Streng, who are professional athletes and support the Invictus Games as ambassadors in Düsseldorf and in the paralympic community of Germany. Lastly, we would like to thank Invictus Games Foundation Patron Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for always shining a light on our competitors and their journey.
