MEET TEAM ITALY
The Italian team for the INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023 presented by Boeing will consist of 17 competitors. In addition there are dedicated trainers and support staff .
The Italian team will compete in: Athletics ,Swimming, Archery, Cycling, Indoor Rowing, Table tennis and Wheelchair rugby.
OUR MOTTO
The Latin phrase “Per Aspera ad Astra” meaning “To the stars through difficulty” is the team motto.
TEAM PHILOSPHY
The Defence Paralympic Sporting Group of the Italian Defence General Staff promotes sport practice of disabled Defence personnel, in respect of individual attitudes and personal abilities, aiming to increase the process of recovery and rehabilitation and the social integration. We are also promoting an active lifestyle for people no longer in service due to an unexpected disability.

Team Captain of the Italian 2023 team is Brigadier General Roberto Como:
“If we want a better world, it is necessary to have knowledge, understanding and respect for all those who experience situations of difficulty and weakness, above all by helping the most fragile to undertake their own path of physical and psychological recovery. Only in this way is it possible to build a better and more inclusive society. As Team Captain, I set myself the goal of being a point of reference and an example for my teammates, to be their constant reference of fairness, respect for the rules and towards other competitors. All my team is excited and happy that our Family & Friends will share our experience of the INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023.”
