Do I need to buy a ticket or do I need to register to attend events in the sports week?
You do not need a ticket or register in advance to attend the sports week and competitions. You do however, need a ticket to attend the opening- or the closing ceremony.

What is the best way to get there?
- Arrival by public transport: Take the U78 line directly to the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA/Messe Nord stop. The journey time between Düsseldorf main station and the Arena underground station is approx. 15 minutes.
- Arrival by car: From the A44 motorway, the exit ‘AS 29 Messe-Nord/Arena’ leads directly to the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA. After entering the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA and exhibition grounds, drivers should follow the signs to the parking areas.
- Parking spaces for bicycles: There are sufficient parking spaces for bicycles and motorbikes at the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA. The parking area is located next to the roundabout near the Rhine.

Where are the admissions located?
There are three entrances available for the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023. Our entrance in the south, which is very easy to reach by public transport, and two further entrances, which are located in the north/east and north/west of the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA and are very easy to reach from our car parks P1 and P2. You will find more information about the car parks on our website shortly.

How does the entrance work?
Feel free to come through one of our three entrances. You can enter or leave without a ticket and with free access through our turnstiles. Re-entry is possible at any time. There is a security gate at each entrance, which you have to pass through.

Is there enough seating at the individual sports venues?
There is sufficient seating capacity at all competitions within the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA. For the athletics competitions there is sufficient seating as well as standing room, the same applies to the cycling races. For archery, the capacity is limited, and for swimming there is no public access. Due to capacity reasons, unfortunately only Competitors and Family & Friends have access.

Can I reserve places?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve seats. There is a free choice of seats on all grandstands.

Do I have to pay attention to anything if I am in a larger group?
Larger groups are also welcome. It is not necessary to register in advance.

Where can I buy wheelchair tickets?
Wheelchair tickets can be booked via the Ticketmaster webshop. This ticket includes one accompanying person free of charge. No additional ticket will be issued for the accompanying person.

Where can I buy tickets for severely disabled people?
Severely disabled people have the right to take an accompanying person with them if a B is shown on their ID card, in accordance with the German Social Code. Severely disabled people can buy a reduced ticket via the Ticketmaster hotline (01806-999 0000) and will then receive a free ticket in addition.

Can I bring a backpack or a bag?
Carrying backpacks and large bags (maximum size 21 × 30 cm/ DIN A4 sheet) is prohibited.

Can I bring food or drinks to the event?
Due to the danger to visitors and artists, it is generally not permitted to bring drinks and food to our events, as these can be used as projectiles. Exceptions are drinks (exclusively non-alcoholic) only up to a maximum of 0.5 litre container size per person in TetraPak or plastic bottle (PET, without lid). Larger packaging units (over 0.5l) as well as bulky items, glass or cans are not permitted.

Do I need a ticket for my small child?
Children under 4 years of age are admitted free of charge, but are not entitled to their own seat.

Is travel by public transport included in the ticket price?
For the Opening Ceremony as well as for the Closing Ceremony, the ticket includes the combined ticket of the Düsseldorf Rheinbahn. This means that the return journey to the event in 2nd class is free of charge in the entire VRR area on presentation of the ticket.

Are the tickets personalised?
No, the tickets are not personalised.

Are there discounts for pupils, students, trainees, senior citizens and children?
Yes, we offer a 20% discount for the Opening Ceremony and the Closing Ceremony for the following groups of people:- Children
- senior citizens
- Soldiers/military personnel
- schoolchildren, students, trainees
- wheelchair users.

What are the different types of tickets and how do they differ from each other?
We sell tickets in three different price categories. These differ only in terms of the view of the stage.

Can I refund my ticket?
Purchased tickets are generally excluded from return or exchange.
