Thank you for your visit to the
Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023

presented by BOEING

9-16 September 2023

Initiated in 2014 by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, the Invictus Games will be held in Germany for the first time in 2023. The German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and the City of Düsseldorf are proud to jointly host this unique international sports festival.

With the 6th Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, our goal is to give soldiers who are wounded, injured or ill in body and soul a greater awareness and recognition in society and to support their path in rehabilitation.

Under the motto “A HOME FOR RESPECT.” the city, together with the German Federal Armed Forces, welcomes around 500 competitors from 21 nations as well as around 1,000 family members and friends to compete in ten disciplines.

Join us on our way to the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023 presented by Boeing and look forward to the games in Düsseldorf, Germany!

The Games are over – what remains are the sporting and personal successes of the German team and an overwhelming feeling of togetherness.

1 Year
to Go

With only one year to go until the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, the city and the German Federal Armed Forces were delighted to welcome Prince Harry and Maghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the Official Launch Event. We look forward to what’s to come!

Juts One More Year!

Many of the competitors at the Invictus Games have no visible injury. Yet they compete with comrades who have a physical limitation. Why is that? What role do mental wounds play in the Invictus Games? And what are psychological wounds anyway? How do they occur? How do they manifest themselves? And can they be healed? In our campaign “Invisible Injuries”, we shed light on these questions and more with those affected, their relatives and experts from the civilian world and the German Armed Forces.

The Campaign
Summer of Respect

The Invictus Games are coming to Germany for the first time. With them, topics are coming into focus that were previously under represented in the German public sphere. What price can all of our freedom have? How do we as a society deal with our servicewomen and men? How do we show respect for those who give their health or even their lives for our values? These topics and more will be explored in the summer of 2023 under the motto “Summer of Respect” with the kind support of our host town Düsseldorf and our partners.

The heart of the Invictus Games Park is the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA. It offers space for 54,600 spectators and unforgettable ceremonies and competitions. This is where the games are opened and a greater part of them take place. In addition, around the arena you will find the track and field facilities, the specially built archery stadium and the Invictus Village with many attractions, cultural events and a colourful children’s programme.
