Ottobock will provide technical service for prostheses, orthoses and wheelchairs during the entire Games. This allows the participants to focus fully on themselves, their competition and therefore their rehabilitation.

„As a human empowerment company at Ottobock, the people come first. That’s what connects us with the Invictus Games. We help people maintain or regain their freedom of movement – and our mission in parasports goes even further: Through our service, we ensure that the athletes can focus fully on their performance and the competition. We are delighted to be able to continue this mission at the Invictus Games 2023.“

Peter Franzel, Head of Events & Exhibitions at Ottobock

Athletic excellence and technical challenges

At the Invictus Games, competitors perform top physical performances in ten disciplines. The medical-technical devices that many of them use are also exposed to extreme stress in the competition. Wheelchairs in particular are quickly damaged in intensive contact sports such as wheelchair rugby – which, in the worst case, means the end of the competition. Highly professional technical service is therefore essential during the Invictus Games. Ottobock provides this support based on over 100 years of medical technology experience.

„We can only have the greatest respect for the physical and mental performance of the Invictus Games participants. Our goal in hosting the Games is to provide them with equipment that meets the highest standards of quality, which is why we are delighted to have Ottobock on our side as Official Supporter.“

Martin Ammermann, Executive Director Sports Major Events D.SPORTS

Ottobock will be on site at the Invictus Games with an international team of technicians. The workshops are located directly in the INVICTUS GAMES PARK and are therefore in close proximity to the training and competition venues. Experienced specialists ensure the professional repair and maintenance of equipment – regardless of the athletes’ nationality or the brands of their prostheses, orthoses and wheelchairs.

„Holistic care during the entire Games is part of our philosophy. In Ottobock, we have a competent partner at our side for the INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023, who already supported the Games at the Invictus Games The Hague 2022. For over 100 years, Ottobock has been ensuring that people such as the injured soldiers are provided with the best possible care and the necessary support for more Quality of life.“

Brigadier General Alfred Marstaller, Project Manager INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023
